Plant’s gypsum affinity shapes responses to specific edaphic constraints without limiting responses to other general constraints

چکیده
Harsh edaphic environments harbor species with different soil affinities. Plant’s responses to specific constraints may be compromised against prevalent stresses shared other semi-arid environments. We expect that high affinity show traits overcome harsh properties, while low respond environmental arid quantified the of 12 plant co-occurring in gypsum outcrops and measured related (rooting water uptake depth, foliar accumulation Ca, S Mg), common (water use efficiency, macronutrients content). Plants differed their strategies face limitations. A phylogenetic informed PCA segregated based on Ca greater depths, associated Species’ explained this segregation, but or nutrient efficiency did not contribute substantially axis. specializations soils do limit ability deal non-specific constraints.

The Role of Environmental Uncertainty, Financial Constraints and Accounting Conservatism in Limiting the Performance Outcomes Due to Manager Overconfidence
Objective: The excessive self-esteem of managers leads to postponing bad news due to weaknesses in performance, and conservatism can be a factor in modifying it. In this paper, the purpose is to examine the role of accounting conservatism in limiting the functional outcomes results from overconfidence managers. Methods: The data of the companies listed in the Tehran Stock Exchange for the peri...
متن کاملConstraints on plastic responses to climate variation in red deer.
Influences of climate on life history traits in natural populations are well documented. However, the implications of between-individual variation in phenotypic plasticity underlying observed trait-environment relationships are rarely considered due to the large, long-term datasets required for such analysis. Studies typically present correlations of annual trait means with climate or assume th...
متن کاملResponses of Plants to Rhenium.
Preliminary studies of the effects of rhenium salts on plants were initiated by the junior author at Harvard University during 1946 and 1947 under the direction of Professor K. V. Thimann. The interest in this metal was stimulated by his results in an earlier proj ect testing physiological effects of various unusual elements for which such data were not as yet available. In this project, which ...
متن کاملA Generalized Sampling Theory Without Band-Limiting Constraints
We consider the problem of the reconstruction of a continuous-time function from the samples of the responses of linear shift-invariant systems sampled at 1 the reconstruction rate. We extend Papoulis’ generalized sampling theory in two important respects. First, our class of admissible input signals (typ. ) is considerably larger than the subspace of band-limited functions. Second, we use a mo...
متن کاملAlfalfa Responses to Gypsum Application Measured Using Undisturbed Soil Columns
Gypsum is an excellent source of Ca and S, both of which are required for crop growth. Large amounts of by-product gypsum [Flue gas desulfurization gypsum-(FGDG)] are produced from coal combustion in the United States, but only 4% is used for agricultural purposes. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of (1) untreated, (2) short-term (4-year annual applications of gypsum tota...
